Buoys
Get ready for the 2026 boating season. Use this page to download application forms, review our rental policies, and view buoy field maps. Applications for the upcoming season open on February 1st. Please ensure your application is complete and includes all necessary information to be eligible for our annual random assignment process, as buoy availability is limited.
Buoy Season
Buoy season runs from May 22 (the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend) through September 30.
Buoy applications are available on the website starting February 1
Buoy applications must be mailed and postmarked no later than March 31.
RTO Assessment must be current
Homeowner must be current on their annual RTO HOA assessments to be eligible to apply for a buoy. The HOA will verify payment status before accepting Buoy Applications.
How to Request a Buoy
Download and complete the application
Follow the instructions on the application and mail the completed checklist, application, payment, and required insurance information to the appropriate Buoy Manager for your desired buoy field postmarked no later than March 31.
RTO will send you an email confirming receipt of your application, so please make sure your email address is legible.
Buoy Rental Fee
The cost for Homeowners is $675.00 for the full season, May 22 – Sept. 30, 2026.
Buoy Assignments
For the summer of 2026, RTO will offer full season buoy rentals. Due to increased demand, there may be a shortage of buoys for homeowners, therefore, initially RTO will not offer Buoy Rentals to Cabin Renters.
RTO will send you an email confirming receipt of your application. In early April, RTO will conduct a random sort of all applicants and send a second email notifying you whether or not you have been assigned a buoy for the 2026 season. If you do not receive a buoy assignment, RTO will shred your check unless you have provided alternative instructions. Specific buoy numbers will be emailed after May 1.
Ensure You Use the Proper Buoy!
If you have your boat delivered, it is your responsibility to verify that it has been put on the proper buoy. If your boat is not on the proper buoy, the HOA will move your boat to the proper buoy, and you will be billed for the service.
Buoy Rules
It is the buoy renter’s responsibility to understand the buoy rules and guidelines.
Visit the Buoy Rules page to read important rules.
